Sentry Emergency Call
System Smoke Detectors

MedCall received notice today that production of the Model HM-560 Smoke
Detector has been discontinued. Our supplier for over 10 years has
cancelled production and will not fill our pending orders.
The good news is that we have been
shipping our new HM-527 Host Panel (Rev. F) since late December which
incorporates changes allowing the use of multiple source 4-wire smoke
detectors currently available as our Part Number HM-560B.

Please note the new HM-560B Smoke Detector is not compatible with any
previous revision HM-527 Host Panel.

Smoke detector replacement for existing facilities will require
replacement of all the smoke detectors and their Host Panel in any
particular room.
- If
the room is equipped with a Wireless Pendant Receiver (HM-547) deriving
power from the smoke detector wiring a Polarity Guard (HM-558) will need
to be installed to protect the receiver during smoke detector operation.
The new HM-560B Smoke Detector includes the additional feature where the unit will report a
Clean-Me trouble if the sensing chamber becomes too dirty for proper
operation.
This only affects the Sentry
Wired Emergency Call System and does not affect the new Sentry Wireless
Emergency Call System.
