DESCRIPTION:

The Sentry HM-527 Host Panel is the master panel to all other devices in a residence. It powers, monitors and supervises smoke detectors, call switches, pendant receivers and security keypad. The model HM-523 intercom adapter can add an optional intercom feature to the HM-527. The panel attaches to a wall mounted, two gang electrical box. Internal microcomputer monitors all inputs, provides a self test, and communicates with master console. The panel incorporates an emergency pull cord, assurance check-in button, and LED operational indicators. A supervised DC power output is provided for powering a remote smoke detector.

INPUTS:

Inputs to the remote devices are wired through the panel's connector. Wire connections are provided for the smoke detector (model HM-560), remote emergency pull station, security devices, intercom, and wireless pendant receiver. All devices wired to the inputs are supervised by the panel.

WIRING:

The Host Panel connects to the Master Console and power supply with a 2 pair wire. Up to 51 Host Panels can connect to the same data cable, see wire design guide: 390-108. For ease of installation and maintenance, the Host panel mates with the prewired connector, Model HM-582.

INDICATORS:

A LED will flash green to indicate proper system operation via a built-in self test feature. A red LED indicates when an emergency call is initiated and verified by the console. A second red LED indicates the assurance period is active and will extinguish when the check-in button is pressed.  To simplify installation and service, both red LED's blink every 30 seconds to indicate proper panel operation without data communication to the console.

EMERGENCY CALL:

The Host Panel is equipped with a 45" nylon pull cord. The LED indicator will glow red when the emergency call switch is operated and verified by the console.

PANEL COLOR:

The standard HM-527 has an off-white plate with a beige colored panel overlay. The panel overlay can be special ordered with custom colors or artwork. Contact Sentry for additional information.

TERMINATIONS:

The Host Panel connects to all wiring via the 15 conductor, prewired connector, part no. HM-582.

RESIDENT ASSURANCE:

The HM-527 host panel will include a Check-In pushbutton and assurance LED indicator. The LED will light to indicate the assurance period is activated. When the resident presses the Check-In button, the indicator will go off until the next assurance period. If this button has not been operated by the end of the assurance period, the apartment number will be displayed on an assurance list at the master console.

The Check-In button is also used to reactivate an apartment from the vacation mode.

REMOTE EMERGENCY CALL OPTION:

The model HM-527 Host Panel can connect to unlimited number of Model HM-41 Remote Emergency Call stations. The LED on the host panel, as well as the remote station will light to indicate that an emergency call was received at the master console. All remotes' are supervised by the host panel. A wireless remote pendant is available (model HM-546) for initiating an emergency call from anywhere in the apartment. For best reception, the pendant receiver (model HM-547) is usually located near the smoke detector.

PANEL FINISH AND DIMENSIONS:

High impact injection molded ABS housing finished in a non-glare off-white. Maximum panel dimensions are 4.7"W X 4.6"H X 1.50"D. The front surface of the panel will extend ½" from finished wall.

INSTALLATION:

The Host Panel is wall mounted with center up to 48" above finished floor in an unobstructed location. The electrical box should be 4" square by 2" deep, with a ½" raise, two gang plaster ring. The nylon pull cord will extend to within 2" above finished floor. When the panels are mounted lower on the wall, the installer should tie another knot in the cord at 2" above the floor, and cut off the excess cord.

The Model HM-527 can be special ordered with an auxiliary connector for wiring to the Model HM-544 Remote Check-In Station. This special order is also necessary when a motion detector is used for automatic check-in.
