DESCRIPTION
The Model HM-568 Smoke Load Resistor is designed to allow the host panel to
supervise the power connections to smoke detectors powered from the Sentry
system. The resistor is used at the end of power leads on the smoke
detector farthest from the host panel. If the resistor is not sensed by
the host panel a trouble message will be transmitted to, and displayed on the
Master Console.
The Model HM-568 Smoke Load Resistor is also designed to allow host panel
operation without a smoke detector. When a smoke detector is not used, the HM-568
Dummy Load must be connected to simulate the smoke detector's current load.
Without the current load, the panel will send a smoke detector trouble message.
The Model HM-568 is wired to the White/Red and White/Blue wires of the
HM-582 host
panel connector.
The current draw of the Smoke Detector is continuously monitored by the host
panel. A trouble signal will be received at the master console if the current
draw ceases. The Smoke Load Resistor simulates the current draw of a smoke
detector.
The Model HM-568 is covered with insulation tubing to eliminate electrical
shorts to other wiring or devices.
The Model HM-568 is a prewired 1200 ohm resistor attached to White with Blue
stripe wire leads, stripped & tinned. The wires are 1.5" long to
facilitate ease of installation.
