DESCRIPTION

The Model HM-585 End-Of-Line Resistor (EOL) is designed to provide supervision on remote normally open contacts. All smoke detector and emergency call station contact closures require one End-Of-Line.

The Model HM-585 End of Line device is wired to the wire connections on a single smoke detector and on the last call station on a cable from the host panel. The wires are 1.5" long to facilitate ease of installation and maintenance.

The presence of the End Of Line device is continuously monitored by the host panel. A trouble signal will be received at the master console if this device, or wiring to it is disconnected.

The Model HM-585 is covered with insulation tubing to eliminate electrical shorts to other wiring or devices.

Note: The End Of Line Resistor will supervise the normally open contacts of remote devices at the end of a cable. Multiple switches on a line must be installed in a "daisy-chain" fashion with the EOL at the last switch to provide proper supervision.
