DESCRIPTION
The Sentry Model HM-610 Utility Input Panel will monitor up
to 12 separate contacts for indication on the Sentry Master Console. The twelve
inputs can be wired to any remote, normally opened, normally closed, or open
collector output device. Typical applications of the HM-610 panel are to monitor
emergency call switches, exit doors, and smoke detectors in the common area of a
facility. Other types of equipment, such as HVAC and security systems, can be
connected if constant monitoring is desired.
Each set of two inputs is selected to operate with a
normally open or normally closed contact. The inputs set for normally open are
supervised by an End-Of-Line resistor. Any open line will alert the console of
trouble.
Each input has two LED indicators to show status. A yellow
LED indicates the on/off condition of the input and a red LED will light to
indicate an EOL trouble.
A four position dipswitch selects the desired address. Up
to 7 utility panels can be connected to each Sentry data line. The Model HM-610 is
powered by the same Sentry power supply unit connected to residence panels. It
will operate at 9 to 18 Volts DC.
The HM-610 has four outputs that are controlled by the master
console. The outputs are sourcing transistors that will supply 12V DC positive
to a load when active (120mA). Each output includes an LED indicator. When the
HM-610 panel is used with the Model HM-545 Call Stations for emergency calls, these
outputs control the Call Verify light on the call panels.
The Model HM-610 Utility Input Panel is equipped with a self
diagnostic routine. If the panel should fail to monitor and communicate, the
console will alarm a trouble signal for that panel. A green LED will flash every
cycle when the panel is tested and properly responds to the master controller.
The panel's microcomputer incorporates a watchdog feature to force a reset, if
data communication should fail for greater than 30 seconds. During this reset
event, the red LED output indicators will flash.
Outputs will turn off when the serial data signal is lost
for 20 seconds or more.
Terminal screws are provided on removable terminal blocks
for the input, output, power and data connections.
The Model HM-610 enclosure measures 8"H x 7"W x
3.75"H. The all metal enclosure has a hinged door and a 1/2" knockout
on each side for conduit wiring. A label is placed on the inside door for easy
identification of terminals and indicators.
