DESCRIPTION:

The Model 884 Transient Suppressor protects a single data line and DC power pair for a group of host panels or remote LCD stations. The 884 is encapsulated in a black insulated module with four wire leads. The leads are color coded to match the host panel connector wire colors and the Sentry recommended host panel loop cable.

The 884 suppressor is usually installed at a terminal block, in a main wiring junction box or in the electrical box behind a host panel.

The 884 is specifically designed to protect devices on a data line loop and the serial interface card of the Sentry controller.

The same suppression network is installed on the #588 and #590 Terminal Boards. It is important to install this network when the #588 or #590 is not used.

Sentry recommends using the 884 at data line connection points where loops are splitting off to multiple groups of panels, and at the end panel(s) of a hallway cable. The use of this suppressor is especially important in high rise buildings and where data lines go out to separate buildings.

The 884 module measures 1.5"L x 1.0"W x 0.5". The four color coded leads are 5" long.
