SYSTEM OVERVIEW
COMMON AREA EQUIPMENT

INTELLIGENT POWER SUPPLY
The Sentry Legacy System residences and common areas are powered by intelligent power supplies. During a power failure, the supplies are supported by batteries that are automatically charged when the power is restored. These batteries are tested each day and automatically recharged when necessary. All of the low voltage supplies and batteries are supervised by the controller. Any power supply or battery trouble will be displayed on the console screen with its location. Surge suppression and voltage transient protection is standard. The power supply is housed in a metal enclosure with a hinged door. A label is placed in the enclosure for easy identification of terminals and indicators.

TERMINAL BOARD
A terminal board provides an easy and organized method for connecting separate runs of common power and data lines. The terminal board is used to connect two data lines from the console and one power supply to the wiring of up to 104 apartments. Transient surge protection is built into the board. Each terminal board includes a fuse and an LED power indicator. The terminal board is housed in a metal enclosure with a hinged door.

UTILITY INPUT PANEL
The Utility Input Panel will monitor up to 12 separate contacts for indication on the Sentry Legacy Master Console. The twelve inputs can be wired to any remote, normally opened, normally closed, or open collector output device. Typical applications of the input panel are to monitor emergency call switches, exit doors, and smoke detectors in the common areas of a facility. Other types of equipment, such as HVAC and security systems, can be connected if monitoring is desired. The utility input panel is powered by the same Sentry Legacy power supply unit connected to residence panels.
The utility input panel has four outputs that are controlled by the master console. The outputs are sourcing transistors that will supply 12 VDC positive to a load when active.
The Utility Input Panel is equipped with a self-diagnostic routine. If the panel should fail to monitor and communicate, the console will alarm a trouble signal for that panel.
The metal enclosure for the utility input panel has a hinged door. A label is placed on the inside door for easy identification of terminals and indicators.

UTILITY OUTPUT PANEL
The Utility Output Panel provides 8 separate, isolated, 5 Amp, form "A" relay contacts. The on/off status of each is controlled by the Sentry Legacy Master Console. Time of day scheduling or interaction control with other Sentry Legacy functions is programmable. The eight outputs can be wired to any remote devices that require remote control. Typical applications include door locks, CCTV systems, HVAC control and lighting.
The Utility Output Panel is equipped with a self-diagnostic routine.
The metal enclosure has a hinged door. A label is placed on the inside of the door for easy identification of terminals and indicators.
