SYSTEM OVERVIEW
RESIDENCE EQUIPMENT
HOST PANEL
The intelligent addressable Sentry Legacy host panel is the primary unit in each apartment. It is
equipped with an emergency pull cord and a check in (assurance) button. The check in
button also functions as the emergency call cancellation switch.
The intelligent Sentry Legacy host panel provides four inputs and two outputs. Devices wired to
the emergency and smoke inputs are supervised. The host panel monitors all inputs,
provides a self-test and communicates with the master console. Surge suppression and
voltage transient protection is provided in each panel. The host panel connects to all
wiring via a 15 conductor pre-wired connector. LED's provide indication of assurance
reminder, call verification, and data presence.
Host panel connectors provide wiring connections for the following options:
REMOTE EMERGENCY CALL SWITCH
This pull cord station extends the emergency call function to other rooms in the
residence. It contains a nylon pull cord and call verification LED indicator.
SMOKE DETECTOR
The photoelectric smoke detector is low voltage, line powered designed for single and
multiple station use. The power comes directly from the Sentry Legacy power supplies, which
provide continuous power when utility power is interrupted. The smoke detectors come
equipped with their own 85 decibel temporal pattern horns. The smoke alarm is announced as
a smoke alarm (versus an emergency call). Multiple detectors in an apartment are wired for
tandem operation, if one sounds, all sound.
WIRELESS PENDANT
Each residence can be equipped with a wireless receiver/transmitter to provide a wireless,
remote emergency call function. The receiver connects to the host panel and duplicates the
emergency call function of the pull cord.
SECURITY
Magnetic contacts, PIR motion detection devices or other security devices can be attached
to the Sentry Legacy host panel in each residence to initiate a unique security announcement
alarm.
BED CORD
Pendant push button bed-cords can be provided in place of the pull-cords.
DOME LIGHT
A dome light outside each apartment which lights when an emergency call is placed can be
installed.
STROBE LIGHT
Strobe lights are used in conjunction with the smoke detector horn when in alarm for the
hearing impaired.
CO (Carbon Monoxide) MONITOR
A carbon monoxide detector can be connected into the Sentry Legacy system. This is required in
some states.
